President’s Message
President’s Message for the ACPI Website #
Welcome to the Association of Christian Philosophers of India #
Dear Friends, Scholars, and Visitors,
Welcome to the online home of the Association of Christian Philosophers of India (ACPI). Whether you are a seasoned researcher, a philosophy student, or simply someone searching for deeper meaning in an increasingly complex world, I am delighted you are here.
Since our founding in 1976, ACPI has been dedicated to a simple yet profound premise: philosophy is not an isolated academic exercise, but a living conversation. Rooted in India’s rich cultural and intellectual heritage, our association offers a space where faith and reason meet and ancient wisdom speaks directly to modern realities.
When I stepped into the role of President in October 2025, I was reminded of why our community matters now more than ever. We live in an era marked by rapid technological transformation, social fragmentation, ecological crises, and deep ethical questions. In times like these, society desperately needs spaces for honest dialogue, deep reflection, and mutual respect.
At ACPI, we seek to bring philosophy out of the ivory tower into public life. Through our annual research conferences, publications, and collaborative projects, we explore topics that shape our everyday life. At its heart, philosophy is about asking better questions and cultivating compassion. It invites us to listen to voices other than our own and to seek truth with humility and courage.
I invite you to explore our website, read our publication archives, learn about our upcoming annual conference, and connect with our nationwide network of scholars. If you share our commitment to thoughtful reflection and constructive dialogue, we would love to welcome you into our community.
Thank you for visiting, and may our shared pursuit of truth inspire hope and transformation in our society.
Warmly,
Prof. Dr Nishant Alphonse Irudayadason
President, Association of Christian Philosophers of India (ACPI)
